Askew Things

10pm. A cold clear night. May 1990. Parnell Road, Auckland. Huge sheets of paper, like gift wrapping peeled from the windows, lie at our feet. We're standing on the footpath, admiring our new store. It blazes with light and colour. Inside - very desirable things. We're happy (and tired!)...a car stops...10:05pm. Our first sale. Askew is born!

In 1995 we hatch another store for Auckland across town in Ponsonby. Today our Ponsonby store is the one and only, the biggest and best yet...over flowing with even more desirable things!
